My Story

I have spent much of my life pushing the limits of human endurance, navigating the world’s vast oceans and towering peaks using nothing but my own strength, muscle and determination. As the first person to complete a solo human-powered circumnavigation of the globe - rowing, cycling, and hiking over 66,000 kilometres - I have faced daunting challenges, from extreme weather conditions to relentless isolation. My journeys have been driven not just by adventure, but by a deep purpose: to honour fallen explorers, inspire future generations, and prove that with resilience and adaptability, we can overcome any obstacle. At the Global EA Summit 2025, I look forward to sharing the lessons I’ve learned about mental strength, perseverance, and navigating the unknown—both in extreme environments and in life.
